Spirit of Joy People will be People of Prayer
Prayer is simply talking to God and letting God talk to you. Prayer can take many forms from quiet time in the corner to singing a praise song while driving to work. Prayer can also happen while walking in the woods or going for a walk. God is always present so one can pray anywhere. Find the way that works for you, but above all pray.
“Is prayer your steering wheel or spare tire?” Corrie Ten Boom
“Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth. Ps. 54:2
“Never stop praying, especially for others. Always pray by the power of the spirit. Stay alert and keep praying for God’s people.” Eph 6:16
“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns.” Phil 4:6 (The Message)
I bow before the Father who made me,
I bow before the Son who saved me,
I bow before the Spirit who guides me,
in Love and Adoration!
I give my lips, I give my heart,
I give my mind, I give my strength,
I bow and adore thee, Sacred Three,

Lord’s Prayer Model of Praying
Since this is the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples it makes sense for us to use it as well. The words convey the attitudes and goals of each section.
Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name.
Begin your prayer time with adoration and honor. Let God know that God is God and deserving of all the adoration and honor we can give God.
Your Kingdom Come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Kingdome building means God is calling us into a "movement" to join others in bringing the world back to God. We are called to make heaven on earth and ask God for guidance in finding ways to do this. A time to also give thanks for all the ways the kingdom is being built today. Make a list of the ways the kingdom is lifted up and praise God!
Give us this day our daily bread.
This day is the only day that is important. Ask God to bless you for all that you need to get through this day only. Begin each morning by giving that day to God and thank God at night for getting you through that day.
Forgive us our sins and we forgive those who sin against us.
Ask God to forgive you of what you have done and also left undone. A big part of forgiveness is about not making a difference in the world and building God’s kingdom. This is also a great time to forgive others and to not carry that burden around anymore.
Save us from the time of trial
This is a great time to ask for guidance for any trials (sufferings, issues, concerns) you might have. It is also a good time to pray for others as they are going through their own suffering and trials.
Deliver us from Evil
This is a great time to ask for God’s protections and God’s Holy Angels to watch over you. This is a good time to pray for others so that they make good choices and are protected from all harm.
For the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory are yours. Amen.
This ending line once again gives honor to God. It is a great time to stop, be quiet and let the one who has all power and glory speak to us.

One can use this form of praying anytime, anywhere. One can even take time throughout the day and pray one section of the Lord’s prayer every couple of hours.. One can also pray a section each day of the week and praise God on Sunday.
