"Where imperfect people seek God and serve others"

Worship
Worship means we come together to praise our God, reconnect with our God through forgiviness and redirection and to allow that same God to guide us as we lead our lives in this world.   How one worships is often a reflection of how God wired you.

Traditional Worship  8:30 AM   37150 Sugar Ridge Road.   We have started this new worship this past Fall.  It is aimed at those people who prefer church hymns and a sturctured format.  This worship will include a order of forgiveness, prayer of the day, a hymn of praise, message, sharing of the peace, creed, Lord's Prayer and Communion.  The music will be piano/organ with a mix of other insturments.   We will use the Evangelical Lutheran Worship  Hymnal with various settings. Dress is still casual or as formal as you want to be.

Praise Worship 11 AM  37150 Sugar Ridge Road.   This is our current worship and includes a praise band, worship around tables and is very energetic.   This worship aims at the heart and wants to connect on a more emotional level.   You may find clapping, hands raised in the air and a bounce in your step.  This worship is for people who like things energetic and free flowing.   This worship will also make use of media and video clips. This worship has every Sunday communion, Lord's Prayer, Prayers for the world, and an confession/forgivness section.

At Spirit of Joy we welcome anyone to the Lord's Supper who believes in the life saving grace of Jesus Christ.  We usually offer communion to children 5th grade and older but will make exceptions depending upon a child/parent's desire.   .

The messages are centered around helping us grow as Christians and to be the church that Jesus would have us be in 2009 and beyond. Beginning in June 2010, there will be a 17 week Sermon Series on "Fear" from Max Lucado's book "Fearless." Please join us and think about this:" Who is this Jesus that can calm our lives?"
